I really love playing chess during my free time. It refreshes my mind and try to move my brain muscles at the same time. It’s like chess is my gym work out for my brain specially every time I feel so stressed and burn out with work and the internet.
I want to feature the Sicilian Opening which I played as white during the championship game in Roxas City, Capiz Philippines. This opening was not actually played perfectly and I want to emphasize that I’m not a master but I really like this game anyway because of course I won this one. Actually, I played the opening well but I have a blunder on the middle game that given the chance the opponent to neutralize my attack.
So without no further chit-chat, here’s the game:
Sicilian Scheveningen: bleuKEN as White
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 e6 6.Be2 a6 7.Be3 Be7 8.Qd2 b5 9.f3 Bb7 10.g4… so we started with this sharp opening. Both of us really intend to win because this is the championship game.
so the position continues and we reach this position after 10. …h6 11.h4 Nbd7 12.0–0–0 b4 13.Na4 Qa5 14.b3 Nc5. When I see this position, I thought that I have seen this before and I know that I will win a pawn with this move. So I really did win a pawn when I move, 15.a3 Nxa4 16.axb4± Qc7 17.bxa4 d5
Here’s the position where I move a blunder move , 18.e5 Nd7 19.f4 Rb8 20.f5 exf5?? weakening the position 21.e6+- fxe6 22.Nxe6?? (with this move White loses his initiative [I should move 22.gxf5 the advantage is on the side of White 22...Nf8 23.Bh5+ (‹23.fxe6 Bc8+-) 23...Kd8 24.fxe6+-] )
The game continues and I still win the game despite the said blunder. Here’s the rest of the moves: 22…Qe5= 23.Nd4 Bxb4 24.Qxb4 Qxe3+ 25.Rd2 Bc8 26.Qd6 Rb6 27.Nxf5 Rxd6 28.Nxe3± Nf6 29.Bf3 Be6 30.Rhd1 0–0 31.g5 hxg5 32.hxg5 Nh7 33.Bxd5 Nxg5 34.Bxe6+ Rxe6 35.Nd5 Re4 36.Rd4 Re2 37.R1d2 Re1+ 38.Rd1 Re2 39.R1d2 Rf1+ 40.Kb2 Re8 41.Rg4 Rb8+ 42.Kc3 Rf3+ 43.Rd3 Rc8+ 44.Kb2 Rxd3 45.cxd3 Nf7? 46. Ne7+ 1–0
