Finally, Globe Telecom confirms the released of the much awaited iPhone 3G in the Philippines this coming August 22, 2008. Yes, it is here now and surely iPhone fanatics will be rushing for this release. I don’t know if I will be one of them!

On their press release which is found at http://www1.globe.com.ph/feature.aspx?artid=113, Gerardo C. Ablaza Jr., president and CEO of Globe Telecom said:

“We are very excited to launch iPhone 3G here in the Philippines. Beginning August 22, Globe is bringing to the Filipinos the best browsing experience through the revolutionary iPhone 3G on our 3G/HSDPA network.”

They offer prepaid and post paid plans for interested Globe users and the iPhone 3G units can cost from Php16,000 to Php41,000 depending on the plans Globe consumers / subscribers select. You can see the price detail of this different offering of Globe from http://www.iphone3g.globe.com.ph.

The cost is really expensive for me I can’t still afford it so I might wait until I’m financially capable or maybe I will not buy it anymore. I realize that it is not suited on my current status as a plain computer instructor in a college. It’s too impractical for me! I might have it only in my dreams… 🙁
