Today, my Cebu Seo Contest entry on this blog vanished again in thin air. It is deleted in index by Google. It shows on page two yesterday and the other day, but today its gone already. It seems that nothing happens with the effort I invested for the said post. That’s why I am giving it up and will stop from optimizing it. It will be a waste of effort for me to continue to increase the chance of that Cebu Seo Contest post. I am just hoping that my other entries will not fail me and I wish that it will not obliterate in results as what happens to my previous Cebu Seo Contest entry.

What I am doing right now is I am trying to focus to other things such as the upcoming open chess tournament to be spearheaded by Capiz Chess Association, Inc. and my MSCS studies. I will try to practice for the said chess tournament because lately I’ve been busy with my work and SEO activities so I was not able to open chess books and play with chess engines for a couple of months. I want to be prepared this time because my last tournament game was the worst game of my chess career. I did tried to play last week and my moves are becoming rusty. I should “lubricate” my chess skills a little to calibrate my playing style. Actually, I decided to play chess again because I was inspired by the quotes I have read written on the wall of the garage chess club of my friend. When I started blogging, the first ever problem I encountered was the “copy and paste gang”. I called them Copy & Paste gang” because of what they have done with my entries. They create their new blogs and since they don’t have anything to write about it they went to my blog then select all the text and images in it then press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V combo to copy every single letter of the post even the punctuation marks and indention of the entry. What I don’t like about it is that the “culprit” (sorry the word is exaggeration) does not  give any credits to your ideas. It seems that they are claiming that your own post is their own idea. This hurt me both by search engine ranking, web traffic and feelings. Imagine you did the brain storming for a single blog post then somebody just get into your blog then copy everything you have done and no simple “TY” or “Thanks” or even a link in return. I admit that I am not really a good writer but my ideas that I’ve been posting in my blogs are my own. Sometimes I copy from other sources but I always make sure that I give back the credits to them and I only quote some part not paste them all at once.

Now, how did I deal with this “plagiarist”? At first I did not do anything about it but every time I think about this incident I can’t stop from uttering “bad words”. So I promised to myself that I will do anything to let them pay about this. How can you determine if your a victim of this copy & paste group? You can make use of the website Copyscape.com to search for articles, posts or websites who copied your content. Copyscape also features a comprehensive advice and suggestion on how to deal with this copy-paste people. If you want automatic prevention of copy-paste, there’s a website that accepts a minimal fee for their service. It is also found on the said website.

Yup that’s right, I am still using Visual Foxpro right now despite it is announced by Microsoft almost a year ago that they will stop developing the next version for this programming language. I just can’t get rid of this VFP on my system because the coding system and semantics of this tool is still running in my blood. I am teaching right now Visual Basic.Net 2008 but my system refuses to use this one for developing information systems that I need to build. Now, I am studying my MSCS and I need to decide which tool that I should use for the development. Is it Visual Foxpro that I am fond of using and really have a “sentimental” value for me or is it Visual Basic.NET because that is the future right now?

I decided this morning to change the title of this website to “Filipino Programmer on the Web”. It will be the permanent title of this website starting today, it is because I am getting tired of this SEO stuff and I can’t focus on what the real purpose of this blog. So starting today, definitely this blog will have a direction to what real stuff should be included here. I will leave the SEO stuff behind temporarily and concentrate to things that is align to the blog objectives.

I would like to thanks everyone who support this blog on the recent Busby SEO Challenge by making a permanent backlink from their posts and websites. It doesn’t mean that I quit with the said contest but I simply want to rest for a moment and place things in proper places. I am currently puzzled with the current standing of this blog on search engines and I want to fix this by providing informatin that I really want to provide. God bless everyone!

Google will introduce soon the adsense for feeds. Yes, after the Google referral retires this August a new mean of making money on your websites is about to be provided by Google. It is the adsense that you can add to your feeds when it reads in RSS or Feed readers. I think it is not yet final because I only saw about this new feature of Adsense in Feeds when I visited my Adsense account and see a new option on the dashboard. When I clicked on it, a blank messagebox was displayed then it goes back to the main index of the dashboard. Here’s what I see on Google Adsense Setup page when I found out about this:

I’m not sure if when can anyone use it on their feeds I’m still looking for information about this on Google. I have tried it but the page refuses it. What I know right now is that the possibility of a new online money making opportunity for us netrepreneurs via this new feature. I will update this post when I gather more information about this.
