For several years that I have been blogging, I encountered a lot of image hosting websites to cater my photo / image hosting needs. Recently I am using Picasa Web to host my pictures specially in one of my blog in i.ph. Actually the i.ph blog hosting has their own image hosting capabilities but the problem is the bandwidth limit. Once you reach the said limit, pictures on your blog will be replaced by message in red “Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” which is very bad for the blog, specially if the blog is a photo blog.

When I have read the buzz about the new design and enhancement on Picasa Web (posted at http://buzz.blogger.com/2008/09/new-stuff-from-picasa-folks.html), I’ve considered to fully use its functionality. Imagine you can store a total size of pictures of 1024MB with ease in organizing the photos. Google also released a new version of the software Picasa which is Picasa 3 Beta which is a free desktop application program that you can use to easily organize, upload your pictures on your PCs,“includes plenty of new photo-editing goodies that can make your blog’s pictures look better, like a powerful retouch tool, greatly revamped photo-collage and slideshow creators, simple video editing, desktop/web sync, and more”

Today when I am exploring one of my favorite site on the web for the latest news and gadgets (which is Reuters), I found this blog post: What’s Apple got in store for 9/9?, the article stated:

Circle the date in your calendar, September 9. That’s when Apple Inc. is planning an event in San Francisco - an event that most believe will showcase the latest new gadget from Steve Jobs & Co. Apple isn’t saying much, other than … invitation to reporters with the headline “Let’s Rock.”

When I read about this Apple teasing invitation about this announcement of a new gadget, I started to think of what possible gadget or device this iPhone and iPod maker will introduce on this date. Actually several speculations were specified on the article. Apple might introduce a major revamp on iPod or release a music related announcement according to one speculator. Other mentions about the prize decrease on Apple devices. My guess, hmm… this is not a wise guess so I am asking for your very open non-sarcastic minds to understand my unthinkable guess. Well I think Apple might release a full touch-screen mac notebook without the keyboard and mouse. A device with a size of a notebook (or smaller) but features a very powerful PC with the touch-screen capability same with iPhone and iPod Touch.

Another guess is that I think Apple might combine iPod+iPhone+iMac = iPac, a powerful PC, music and mobile phone in one. Just a wild guess… I don’t know if someone already guess about this one and I don’t think this is a wise guess.

Oh my, Google will be releasing this September 2 U.S. time their very own open-source browser. They named it as Google Chrome. As the official blog of Google entitled: Fresh Take on Browser announced which I actually first read from Nihar’s Post: http://www.niharsworld.com/2008/09/02/google-browser-google-chrome-is-releasing-soon/, this new browser from Google will be designed as faster and robust it can. It uses a different approach in browsing the web. Instead of using a single threaded browsing, they plan to make a simple browser that uses multi-threaded architecture but later it is revised into multi-processes browser architecture. I am so excited about this new browser of Google and I will definitely download its beta release whenever it is available (which according to them by tomorrow). Honestly I am a Mozilla Firefox fan and same as Nihar, I will be one of those who will be comparing Chrome’s features to Firefox.

I will try to update this post regarding this new browser from Google after I downloaded it tomorrow. If you want to read more about the said browser, you can read the comic book that Google provide to explain its fancy features and capabilities.

A friend of mine (at www.kyubz.com) is planning to have a mini-SEO contest this September 2008. This will be our very first SEO competition to organize since we started blogging. Originally I am planning it all alone but I can’t still afford the prizes as this time so I asked my friend that we contribute to the prizes or share the expenses for the prize. I want to make the said SEO competition very attractive that’s why we are planning to ask some sponsors but if in case that we don’t found any sponsors to take care of the prizes well we will get our prizes directly from our Paypal account. The plan is we will offer 1-year free domain registration and web hosting, some cash (about $50 or more depending on the availability of funds and incoming sponsors) plus Entrecard credits.

We are still drafting and discussing the rules and mechanics of the SEO contest. We will just wait for the Cebu Seo Contest to end before we announce the official release of our mini-SEO contest. Apart from that we are still looking for more sponsors so we can offer much lucrative prizes.

Tomorrow will be the last day of registration for the Cebu Seo Contest of PhBlogger.Net. Almost seven days left before the final day of checking entries on Google. I know that my entries are not winning at all and I don’t expect anymore that this thing will change for the next 7 days. I am happy right now because I can see that majority of the entries that are lining up on the result pages are all from Roxas City, Capiz. This only mean how the resident of Capiz are getting matured with the search engine optimization. There has been a misunderstanding because of this rivalry in the search engine optimization in the place but I think this will just pass away as Cebu Seo Contest will also fade. Life is boring if there’s no competition and this Cebu Seo Contest activity add a small spice to the bland idle life of newbies, students and SEO experts in the province.
