Google agreed to Yahoo! in supplying Yahoo with advertising services to run alongside Yahoo’s own Web search system. Actually this deal was already discusses last June. The recent report from Reuters stated how Newspapers scrutinize this deal and complains that the deal will really hurt the newspaper. Here’s the excerpt of the said report from Reuters:
Google and Yahoo said the deal would only be in effect in the United States and Canada, but the World Association of Newspapers said it would hurt Yahoo’s ability to compete against Google in the future and called on EU antitrust authorities to scrutinize it. My question right now is that, will the bloggers (filipino blogger like me) and small netrepreneurs gain from this deal? I hope so! What if Google and Yahoo! merge, what will be their new name? Will it be GooHoo or Yagle or Gahoo! or GooYah or YahGoo? – cast your votes now! 🙂 What will happen with Microsoft Live and other search engines on the web like the new Cuil? Will they have a chance to compete with this two giants? They might be eaten alive. 😀
