Last December 7 to 9 of the year, Microsoft External Research hosted the 2008 Microsoft eScience Workshop. The primary goal of this workshop was to bring together scientists from diverse research disciplines and give them the opportunity to share their research and their experiences of how computing is shaping their work and thus providing new insights into facilitating scientific discovery. eScience tools which refers to the use of technology to facilitate scientific endeavors keeps on emerging and useful to the different field of sciences. In this conference, they have discussed several topics that in relation to parallel processing and cloud computing, two of the most changing scientific discoveries of the current time.

The conference showcases the importance of the new eScience tools for scientists to dissect and analyze data which are very important in science research. Here are some of the keynotes from the conference:
