How’s the Busby SEO Challenge going?

When I peeked on the leaderboard for the Busby SEO Challenge today from Busby’s leaderboard and on Google’s search result on the said keyword, the usual leaders were the same SEO masters who leads last month’s result. I don’t even see any Filipino entrants who reaches first page of the SERP. I don’t know if any of the Filipino SE Optimizer can do something about this challenge but they are doing anything to belong to this elite SEO challengers.

Let see about this challenge and for the meantime, here’s the top ten teams / individuals who leads the Busby keyword challenge:

For my entry, well as usual it is not even on the 2nd page and I’m not quitting but I’m just about to accept it. Accept that I need to learn more about this SEO thing and exert more effort to overcome this challenge.

Update (07/27/2008):

Recently this website gain a Google PageRank 3 but it does not affect its position on the SERP. However my higher rank that I ever have for this blog was rank #33 but now it keeps on falling and it seems that it can’t hold any grip on the result pages. My only consolation is that at least I gain an increase in traffic and page importance. Well, I will keep on the Busby SEO Challenge and will never give up until the last moment of the contest!

At Last Got on Top 100

When I was doing my usual surfing on the net this evening, while the storm hits our province, I decided to check my entry on busby seo challenge keyword contest by Busby Web Solutions. I found out that I managed to make this new website (at about 3 weeks old domain) to be included on the top 100 for the said keyword. Actually at exact rank 100. Even it is on the end of the ranking I’m quite satisfied because I understand that I finally will be included on tomorrow’s official Busby SEO Challenge leaderboard.

Wee, I feel that I almost win the said SEO challenge or hit a jackpot even if I only manage to be on position 100. Well at least I made it to the leaderboard and shows to the world that a Filipino can make it to the top of an elite SEO competiton. Maybe by next week, I’ll be on top 50, it’s free to dream and I want to dream big!

Update: After the storm and 3 nights of no internet my rank dropped again outside the top 100. sigh…

Google Dancing

Yesterday, I’ve checked the search result of Google.com for the key phrase “busby seo challenge” and Pogung was leading but now a different website have taken its position on number one. Another SEO master who is very determined to win (as based on his blog posts about Busby SEO Challenge), really started to tighten his grip on the Google SERP. I’m talking about LiteReview and then now GlobalAwareness.info is also trying to get the top rank.

You can really see how Google is affected with this recent SEO challenge, results are keep on dancing. Changes almost happen every hour of the day. I can’t even make a concrete forecast of the possibilities of this Busby Challenge. I can’t make any prediction of who will be the possible top three best SEO experts that will win this challenge. This Google Flux really driving every challengers crazy. It is because that they can’t dance or cope with the different steps that the rhythm of Google is currently playing. Google algorithm is right now a very “big secret” and I’m still cracking the algorithm, guessing, analyzing and finding what’s the right tactics or techniques to apply so that it is according to what SE spider like.

Some SEO gurus who participated the said Busby SEO Challenge don’t even reveal their techniques. According to them they simply comply to the guidelines of Google in designing their websites. They simply follow the rules as per written on the Google’s Webmasters Guidelines. I did read it and tried to comply with it so I’m hoping that website will reach even at least page one of the SERPs. I will still continue this fight even I’m “domain age” behind other websites.

Pogung177 Takes Rank 1 at Busby SEO Challenge

When I check the Busby SEO Challenge Leaderboard today, I found out that Sphereteam were oust by Pogung177 on rank number one of the Google SERP. So I check on the site of Pogung177 and kind to like the guy’s posts and opinion about the current SEO challenge. He discusses how busby seo challenge participants were spamming the social bookmarking sites just to be ranked on Google. He also point out that this does not mean anything to lift your rank on Google since social bookmarking sites (specifically he mention Digg) set external links with nofollow attribute which does not add up to PageRank.

If in case Pogung177 will win the busby seo challenge, I’ll be glad to accept it. I find his entry to be with quality content which is worth of being crown as champion of the challenge. Pogung177 is an Indonesian, at first I thought he was an Australian but I have seen the flag that shows his patriotism to his country. I actually even copy his style of putting the flag of my country on my blog.

W ell, if he can find this entry I hope he will not get it wrong. I really like how he do it with his entry on the Busby SEO Challenge. Kudos to you pogung177 from bleuken.com!

Regarding with my Busby SEO Challenge entries, my positions are rank 14, 21 and 46 which are far from being on page one. While this blog bleuken.com did not manage to enter to top 100. Well whatever, things will happen if it is intend to happen!

For your first web hosting, going for startlogic is the best where as for maintenance and refreshing, one can try midphase.
