The former opponent and challenger of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao in the welterweight division, the Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto will be fighting against a former champion from Nicaragua named Ricardo Mayorga for the WBA (World Boxing Association) Super Welterweight Title on March 12, 2011 Saturday night at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This fight will be presented live and can be watched via Showtime pay-per-view organized by the Top Rank promotions.

Both fighters were known to be winners of their division and have undergone several big challenges of their lives from fighters such as Manny Pacquiao, Oscar Dela Hoya, Vernon Forest, Shane Mosley, Yuri Foreman and  a lot more. This will be quite exciting match that every boxing enthusiasts out there should watch.

In the Philippines, ABS-CBN will be the channel in the country that will show this fight on March 13, 2011 Sunday beginning at 10am (GMT+8 time).

If you want to watch Cotto vs. Mayorga live, it is recommended that you get the $49.95  subscription from SHOWTIME PPV or just wait for the replay of this match on your local TV station.

If you’ll be asking me, if who will be the boxer that I predict to win and get the Super Welterweight crown, well, I’ll place my bet to Miguel Cotto. I’ve seen him fight Pacquiao and Foreman and this guy got really what it takes to become the champion and the best of this division. I believe that he can convincingly defend this title against Mayorga and it will be a KO4 or a knock out on the 5th round.

Right now, I can’t think of anybody that can steal the title from Cotto specially that Pacquiao stated that he will not fight again in this weight division. How about you, what do you think will be the outcome of this match? Will Mayorga got what it takes to grab the seat from Cotto? Well, let just watch this on the 12th of March.

Update: The Cotto vs. Mayorga non-televised undercard fights will begin at 6pm E.T. (i.e. 7am in the Philippines) and can be watched for free via – the official free online streaming feature of Top Rank Promotion’s website. Check out the said stream too at the links I mentioned above.
