BlackBerry Touch-Screen PhoneAfter the revealation of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic touch-screen phone, another touch-screen phone challenges Apple’s iPhone. I am referring to the new smartphone by BlackBerry called BlackBerry Storm. It will surely storm the retail market by later fall and exclusively available on Verizon Wireless (for US) and Vodaphone (UK and other countries) subscribers only. The said smartphone comes with a touch screen that depresses slightly when it is pressed which is different from iPhone’s flat scratch-proof screen.

According to the report of Reuters, the new phone is equipped with software for e-mail and managing documents, as well as a media player for music, movies and photos. It’s has a 3.2 megapixel camera which is same with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and higher than the 2.0 MP camera of iPhone 3G. RIM or Research in Motion said that “BlackBerry Storm’s clickable interface is like an engineering marvel, it is revolutionary.”

I guess this smartphone can’t be used in the Philippines because we don’t have Verizon and Vodaphone here, except if someone out there crack it to become useful in phone networks in the Philippines or Smart Communications will get the rights of this amazing gadget to battle against Globe’s iPhone 3G in the Philippines. How I wish but my guess again is it will be definitely very expensive here like the iPhone, maybe double of its original price.
